Was Confucius Jewish? Part One

I had placed this one up on August 5, 2008
There is a profound relationship between Israel and China.  Their leaders have acknowledged this recently.  They may have discussed this over a meal of Chinese food.  I would like to show how there are, in fact, some striking similarities between the Analects of Confucius and the monotheistic Scriptures.  Monotheists believe in Heaven.  Confucius believed in a heavenly authority.  I will attempt to not draw too many analogies between my life and that which is known about Confucius.  Confucius lived several hundred years before Jesus, around the time Cyrus allowed the building of the Second Temple.

From Book 2, number 11:

The Master said, He who by reanimating the Old can gain knowledge of the New is fit to be the teacher.

Some people might think of me as being reanimated.  That is not why I mention this passage.  What today's religious leaders do, especially the wisest of men, is exactly what is mentioned above.  They know all the important lessons have been taught in the past.  We understand what the correct answers are to modern issues when we realize that we really just have a lot of new "toys" but the world and people have not really changed that much.  We need only reapply the lessons learned in the past.  We do not need to repeat the mistakes of the past.
